Same Tone, Mile Nine

23:10 — field note, mile 9, dash clock misread, checked it three times

The tone is back at mile nine, same as it's been every night I've run this on purpose to check, and I want that on the record before anyone decides this is about something else, because the signal pages are already a mess of people emailing me about numbers stations and I am not doing that argument again from the top every single time someone new wanders in. the signal pages are linked below if you want the full chronology. I keep the dates. I kept the dates on the camera 257 thing too and you can go check those against what I posted the same week, I dont pad the numbers after the fact, thats not what this is. twenty two nights now on the tone. maybe twenty three, I lost one to a dead phone battery on the ninth. no, the tenth, it doesnt matter which, a night I cant verify doesnt go in the count, thats the rule and its been the rule since the truck pages. dead battery, dead air, the tone comes in clearest on dead air actually, which is its own thing I'll get to. Anyway.

It doesnt matter which station. AM, dead air between stations, didn't matter once I had a portable with no antenna at all just to rule the car radio out... six seconds, same six seconds, right at mile nine on the same stretch, every night, and I am not going to sit here and hedge about whether thats "weird" because weird isnt the word and Im done being polite about the word. I dont know the frequency to the decimal and I dont care. what I know is it is aimed, at that mile marker, at that hour, at me specifically, and some of you are going to read this and want it to be a message, a sign, something sent down to warn me or bless me or whatever the people who email me about this want it to be, and no. I am not a believer. I document. a tone is a tone whether a man built the relay or whatever yall think built it, I dont care who's behind it, I care that its THE SAME SIX SECONDS, every night, at the same mile marker, and that is not weather and that is not a dead patch in coverage, coverage doesnt know what mile marker my car is on. coincidence? no.

They moved the transformer station closer to that stretch back in the spring, I think, Id have to check which post that was on, it might of been before the mailbox thing, doesnt matter, point is somethings out their now that wasnt before and the tone started after, I never said when exactly because I didnt clock it the first few times, you dont clock a thing youre not looking for yet. my kids old bus stop is two mile markers up from nine, I think about that more than I should, theres no reason to, I just do. the tone cut out early tonight. four seconds instead of six. I dont know what that means yet and Im not going to pretend I do.
